Simon has over 17 years’ experience in the corporate and financial sectors as both a principal and also a corporate finance professional. During his career, Simon has built up relationships with high net worth individuals, family offices (single and multi), institutional and strategic investors across all sectors (but with a particular interest in natural resources, alternative energy, technology and real estate). This trusted investor network generates a significant amount of deal flow and cross-referral opportunities.
Simon is currently also a director and co-founder of Sampog Energy, a private investment company which primarily focuses on investments in the energy sector. During the immediate aftermath of the Lehman Brothers’ collapse in late 2008, Simon played a key role in fundraising and investment activities for an oil and gas upstream project in Trinidad.
Simon has extensive cross border experience in fundraisings, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions (public and private), private equity, funds, joint ventures and re-organisations across the energy, real estate, financial institution and technology sectors with deal values in excess of $10 billion. Earlier in his career, Simon worked as a corporate lawyer at international law firms, Denton Wilde Sapte and Clyde & Co.
Simon read law at Bristol University. He is called to the Bar (both England & Wales and Trinidad & Tobago) and admitted to the Roll of Solicitors.
For the past 19 years, Simon has been involved in charitable work in connection with other alumni of Charterhouse School.
Simon has dual nationality (Trinidad & Tobago and UK).
